Bamya bi Zeit (Okra in Tomato Sauce)
A delicious Middle Eastern dish made with okra and tomato sauce.

Main Ingredients
- 500 g Okra fresh or frozen
- 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 large Onion chopped
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 400 g Tomatoes chopped or canned
- 1 cup Water
- 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper or to taste
- 1 teaspoon Ground Coriander
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they start to break down.
Add okra, water, salt, black pepper, ground coriander, and ground cumin. Stir well.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes until okra is tender.
Stir in lemon juice before serving.
