Fatayer Za'atar (Za'atar Turnovers - bread dough)
Fatayer Za'atar are delicious Middle Eastern turnovers filled with a flavorful za'atar mixture. Perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Dough
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Instant yeast
- ¾ cup Warm water
- 2 tablespoon Olive oil
Filling
- 4 tablespoon Za'atar spice mix
- 4 tablespoon Olive oil
- 1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. 
- 2. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. 
- 3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. 
- 4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size. 
- 5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). 
- 6. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each one out into a small circle. 
- 7. Mix the za'atar spice mix with olive oil to form a paste. 
- 8. Place a spoonful of the za'atar mixture in the center of each dough circle. 
- 9. Fold the dough over the filling to form a turnover and pinch the edges to seal. 
- 10. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
