Ingredients 

Dough

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Instant yeast
  • ¾ cup Warm water
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil

Filling

  • 4 tablespoon Za'atar spice mix
  • 4 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. 2. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. 6. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each one out into a small circle.
  7. 7. Mix the za'atar spice mix with olive oil to form a paste.
  8. 8. Place a spoonful of the za'atar mixture in the center of each dough circle.
  9. 9. Fold the dough over the filling to form a turnover and pinch the edges to seal.
  10. 10. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
