Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Butter softened
- 1 cup Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 4 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds for topping
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
Take small pieces of dough and roll them into ropes about 5 inches long. Twist each rope into a coil or braid and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the tops with a beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack.
