Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoon Za'atar

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll each into a ball.
  6. Roll each ball into a ¼-inch thick circle. Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle with za'atar.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the pitas puff up and are lightly browned.
