Main Ingredients
- 2 kg Dates pitted
- 8 cups Water
1. Place the dates in a large pot and cover with water.
2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
3. Strain the mixture through a strainer lined with cheesecloth, pressing to extract as much liquid as possible.
4. Return the liquid to the pot and simmer until thickened to a syrupy consistency, about 30-40 minutes.
5. Let cool, then transfer to a storage jar.
